SOLACOAT

Australian heat-reflect roof coating

By applying Solacoat, you can reduce internal temperatures by as much as 15°C. And that means much lower cooling costs!

Non-toxic, odour-free and environmentally friendly.

What is Solacoat?

Solacoat is a two-step water-based acrylic coating system that prevents any substrate that it is applied to from heating up. Our system can be applied to residential dwellings, commercial offices, industrial sheds and mine site equipment. It can even be applied to railway lines to stop the heat from buckling them! Better than any internal insulation, Solacoat reflects the sunrays away from the roof immediately thereby leaving the roof cool to touch and your home cooler inside. Solacoat is also safe for roofs that collect rainwater.

This innovative Australian designed product is designed to suit Australia’s harsh weather conditions, is locally manufactured to both International and Australian Industry Standards and is Ecospecifier Global Certified. Architecturally, Solacoat presents an exceptional appearance, is durable with excellent water proofing properties giving your home or building a fresh new modern appearance.

Solacoat is non-toxic, odour free environmentally friendly and free from harsh chemicals.

How long will it last?

Solacoat provides a 10 year limited Guarantee on the surface integrity and performance, if applied according to instructions. The longest standing jobs in Alice Springs are still performing after 25 years.

How much will the temperature drop inside?

This depends on location, surface material, its colour and degree of degradation however the outside air temperature only needs to reach 28°C before your roof reaches a temperature of approximately 57°C or greater. With a roof that reflects a majority of the suns’ rays, then only a minimum amount of downward heat will enter into the roof or wall cavity. Therefore your home should reach a maximum energy efficiency and be approximately cooler by up to 10°C* having applied our Solacoat off white/cream topcoat colour.

“Solacoat has helped keep inside cooler. Our Jan-Feb temps can be over 38˚C. This summer we have been able to sleep inside every night, whereas we have often camped outside when the house gets too hot. Solacoat has kept inside below 30˚C in the warmest rooms (kitchen) & today it’s 36˚C out and 26˚C in the kitchen at 3pm – just perfect!”

“I have an Iron roofed building in the lower Flinders Ranges, South Australia. Prior to applying Solacoat on very hot days, the temperature in the hut was very similar to the outside temperature. Candles would melt and it was not comfortable to be inside. Since applying the Solacoat I have recorded inside temperatures approximately 10˚C cooler. I found the Solacoat applied very well with my Wagner Project115 Airless Sprayer. I have no hesitation in recommending this product and would use it again as a quick, easy and cost effective way to cool.”
